HORACE

Horace, founded by Adam Entwisle and Emma Hales, made their London Fashion Week debut last season despite running the brand successfully for seven years. Focusing on ‘desert survivors’ the s/s collection, which features both menswear and womenswear, looks a little stifling at first glance – too many black layers and boots. It’s only after you envisage the nomadic tribes of the desert, swathed in layer upon layer against the harsh climate that you can appreciate the design duo have hit upon something unique for a s/s collection.

The tribal influence means the silhouette is tunic-like with draped scarves and voluminous hoods but a futuristic element makes the designs modern

With design houses in both Bali and London, Horace has managed to blend handcrafted elements from the Far East with the grungy edge of our capital to great effect.

Horace will  be showing their Autumn/ Winter 2011 collection at London Fashion Week and they are the one watch. It is going to be a great show and I really look forward to it.
